The Zalesie wind farm, acquired by PGE Energia Odnawialna from the PGE Group, has a capacity of 24.85 MW. The transaction was advised by financial experts from Baker Tilly TPA and tax experts from TPA Poland.
“We often provide our clients with professional support in transactions related to the renewable energy market. Our team has considerable know-how and expertise in this area. We were pleased to carry out comprehensive tax and financial due diligence on the acquisition of the Zalesie wind farm. In addition, we provided full support in the area of financial and tax advice throughout the transaction process. We would like to thank our Client for their trust and for choosing our team as their advisor, and we congratulate PGE Energia Odnawialna,” said Maciej Krokosinski, Partner at Baker Tilly TPA.
The object of the transaction, the Zalesie wind farm, is located in the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Province in the commune of Płośnica in the Działdów district. It consists of seven turbines with a capacity of 3.55 MW each. The project can supply nearly 38,000 households with energy and will reduce CO2 emissions by more than 61,000 tons per year.
It is worth mentioning that PGE Energia Odnawialna, in a post-transaction announcement, stressed that it is successively expanding its portfolio of zero-emission sources, not only through its own investments, but also through acquisitions of prospective assets, as illustrated by the purchase of the Zalesie Wind Farm, which was launched on September 1, 2022. Following this transaction, PGE Energia Odnawialna has increased its onshore wind power capacity to nearly 800 MW.
PGE Energia Odnawialna plans to eventually reach 1.5 GW of installed generation capacity. The company currently operates 21 wind farms, 29 hydroelectric power plants, four pumped storage power plants and 29 photovoltaic farms. The total installed capacity of all facilities is approximately 2,478 MW.
